Job Title: IT Officer
Job Summary: The IT Officer will be responsible for the management and maintenance of the SACCO’s computer hardware, software, and network systems. They will ensure that all systems are functioning correctly, are secure, and are up to date. The IT Personnel will also provide technical support to users in the SACCO
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain computer hardware, software, and network systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to computer hardware, software, and network systems.
- Provide technical support to users in the organization, including hardware and software issues and assistance with applications.
- Coordinate and participate in the Quality Assurance testing process, work with programmers and System Administrators to analyze and resolve issues.
- Keep up to date backups, maintain version controls and release notes.
- Evaluate the SteadFin business needs, analyze data and processes, evaluate new and existing systems to determine gaps and fits, and translate business requirements to technology specifications.
- Conduct contingency planning for potential IT hardware unavailability to ensure business continuity.
- Develop and maintain systems infrastructure documentation and action plans including policies and procedures, disaster recovery plans, user guides and best practices that relate to systems platforms.
- Monitor the SACCO’S’s computer systems and network for security breaches and take appropriate action if necessary.
- Ensure that all software applications and hardware are up to date with the latest patches and updates.
- Maintain an inventory of all computer hardware and software in the organization.
- Develop and maintain IT policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the organization’s computer systems and data.
- Provide training to users on new software applications and updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network systems.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to computer hardware, software, and network systems.
- Knowledge of website maintenance and management.
- Familiarity with IT policies and procedures related to data security and integrity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with other members of the SACCO.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
