Highlights from the Annual General Meeting (AGM)

SteadFin’s highly anticipated Annual General Meeting (AGM) on April 20th, 2024, was a remarkable event brimming with energy and enthusiasm. Held at the Springs Hotel, Mbuya Hall, the AGM brought together members, stakeholders, and management to celebrate our achievements, address challenges, and plan for a promising future.

The meeting featured comprehensive reports from the Board Chairperson, Supervisory Board Chairperson, and Treasurer, showcasing our accomplishments and addressing the hurdles we faced over the past year. The CEO’s report captivated the audience with insights into our operational successes and strategic initiatives aimed at boosting member satisfaction and organizational efficiency.

Key resolutions passed included the approval of audited financial statements, surplus distribution, budget estimates, and the appointment of Ernst & Young as external auditors. Members actively participated in discussions, offering valuable insights and feedback. Notably, the first phase of the ambitious SteadFin Housing Project was authorized, and a task force was established to explore innovative ways to boost membership.

After graduation of co-hort1 participants in the Member Cooperative Development Program (MCDP), the AGM climaxed with the election of the Executive Board. Dr. Eric Lugada was celebrated as the new Board Chairperson, Ken Odur as the Vice Charperson, Counsel Akineza Augustine as the External/Diaspora representative, Mr. Jamada Walusimbi as the GSO representatives, Mrs Dorcas Kaganda as the CDC Rep, with Mr. Dennis B. Natumanya elected as Treasurer, Mr. Roger Were as Peace Corps Representative, Ms. Joyce Wanican as USAID Representative, and Mr. Isaac Lubega as State Representative.

VETCO Chairperson Mr. Daniel Bogere expressed gratitude to the committee and members for their unwavering support, sharing valuable lessons learned and encouraging internal resolution of election-related issues.

SteadFin’s 2024 AGM was a testament to our resilience, transparency, and unwavering commitment to excellence, reinforcing our mission to empower members and promote financial inclusion.
