The SteadFin Youth Development Programme, derived from the Member Cooperative Programme, aims to cultivate a cohort of youth who understand and embrace cooperative principles and actively engage with the cooperative movement. Through a series of sessions focused on Cooperative Philosophy and Mastering Money, including aspects of Personal Finance Management and Innovative Entrepreneurship, the programme seeks to equip young individuals aged 13 to 25 with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed financial decisions and explore entrepreneurial opportunities. The 2nd of its kind, was held on January 26th at Sycamore International School, themed “Innovate, Ignite, Invest,” was a resounding success, highlighting our commitment to empowering the next generation.

Insights from the Youth Leadership
We, the members of SteadFin Youth Association, are excited to share our insights on the transformative experience we had at the annual youth engagement held on January 26th at Sycamore International School. This report summarizes our reflections, learnings, and aspirations as young participants in the cooperative movement.
Highlights of the Youth Seminar: The session was a dynamic platform where we engaged in meaningful discussions, participated in interactive sessions, and gained invaluable insights into financial management, investment strategies, and entrepreneurship. It commenced with an inspiring talk by Mr. Don, the managing director of Aloesha Organics, who shared his journey and imparted valuable lessons on business and life.
We were divided into groups based on age, allowing us to delve deeper into the products offered by the SACCO and learn from personalities who have made significant contributions to the SACCO community. The event also included engaging team-building activities and challenges and competitions that fostered teamwork, critical thinking, and decision-making skills among participants.
A highlight of the session was the entrepreneurship showcase, where young members had the opportunity to present their innovative business ideas and projects. This platform not only encouraged creativity but also facilitated networking and collaboration among like-minded individuals. We were inspired by the support and mentorship provided by the SACCO to young entrepreneurs, signalling its commitment to nurturing youth talent.
The event provided us with the chance to explore leadership positions within the SACCO, offering us avenues for personal growth and development beyond financial empowerment.
Youth Engagement and Empowerment: As youth members, we are committed to actively participating in various initiatives aimed at enhancing our financial literacy, entrepreneurial skills, and leadership capabilities. We recognize the importance of equipping ourselves with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the complexities of the modern world.
Hopes for the Future: Looking ahead, we envision an even more inclusive and impactful future for SteadFin Youth Association. We aspire to see expanded opportunities for youth engagement, greater accessibility to financial resources, and increased collaboration with external partners to support our endeavours.
